Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami wants to establish a humane and ideal state through establishing the law of Allah and the rule of honest people in the country, its chief has said.
“Our fight, as per the Quran, is against all the oppressive vested interests in this country. And to implement this instruction, Jamaat-e-Islami wants to establish a humane and ideal state through establishing the law of Allah and the rule of righteous people,” he said.
The Jamaat ameer came up with the statement while visiting the house of the family members of the girl, a 7th grade student of Kalibari Road, Ward-1 of Barguna Municipality, who was raped on 4 March, to console them and inquire about their condition on Monday.
The rape victim girl’s father Montu Das was killed by miscreants at night on 11 March as he protested against molestation of his daughter.
Shafiqur Rahman announced that the party will stand by all the repressed, oppressed, and distressed families of Bangladesh in the future as it has done in the past.
He landed at Barguna Circuit House ground by helicopter from Dhaka at 10am on Monday. From there, he went directly to the house of the victim’s family and spoke to the mother of the victim where he expressed his sorrow after learning about all the issues of the family and expressed his condolences to them.
He announced that Jamaat-e-Islami has taken over all the financial responsibilities of the other two surviving children of the victim’s family until they reach adulthood.
Later, he also spoke at a wayside rally arranged by the district unit of the Jamaat in Barguna Town Hall Ground.
“We want Almighty Allah to handover the governance of Bangladesh in the hands of those who will implement the rule of the Quran. We want to build a corruption-free and misrule-free Quranic, humane Bangladesh in the coming days,” Shafiqur Rahman said.
He said they visited the house of the victim’s family to share the sorrow of an oppressed family. “The father of the raped girl is a very ordinary non-Muslim citizen. He has an elderly mother, wife and 3 daughters.”
The Jamaat ameer said the family has become completely helpless after losing their only wage earner. “It is our moral duty to stand by this helpless family. Therefore, we have taken the responsibility of this helpless family by trusting in Allah and declaring that we will stand by them.”
