JaPa Chairman and deputy leader of the opposition party in the parliament, GM Quader has reportedly received a life threat, with miscreants warning him to stay away from the upcoming parliamentary election scheduled for January 7.
Abdul Hannan, personal assistant to Quader, lodged a general diary with Uttara West Police Station on Thursday, Sub-Inspector Moniruzzaman, also a duty officer of the police station, told the Daily Sun on Saturday.
An unknown caller phoned Quader around 4:03pm on Thursday and asked him not to participate in the upcoming general election. At one point in the conversation, the caller gave him a life threat, the SI said quoting the GD.
Meanwhile, Abul Hasan, officer-in-charge of the police station, told the media that the incident is under investigation and efforts are on to arrest the culprit for legal action.
