BNP Standing Committee Member Abdul Moeen Khan has said that the outcome of the 12th parliamentary election has been predetermined and is scheduled to be announced on January 7.
The BNP leader came up with remarks after paying wreaths at the National Memorial in Savar to commemorate Victory Day on Saturday.
“The election result has already been finalised. It is set to be officially announced on January 7,” Moeen Khan told a questioner.
He criticised Awami League for its seat-sharing bargaining with alliance leaders and said the ruling quarter has already failed to hold a free and fair election in the country.
If the distribution of seats becomes the factor in electing members of the parliament, then this election has already met an utter failure, said the BNP leader.
The people of the then East Pakistan sacrificed their lives for an independent country and democracy. However, after 52 years of the country’s independence, the Awami League is accused of betraying the principles of democracy, he said.
