Int’l media reports on verdict in Sheikh Hasina’s case

International media outlets are reporting over the verdict with importance in the first case against three defendants, including ousted former prime minister Sheikh Hasina, for crimes against hu-manity committed during the July Uprising in 2024.

The report said that a tribunal in Bangladesh is set to announce the verdict in a case against former prime minister Sheikh Hasina. The BBC has been heavily covering and reporting on the security surrounding the verdict, including Sheikh Hasina’s death sentence in crimes case against humani-ty.
Al Jazeera has broadcasted live under the title ‘Court verdict against ousted former prime minister Sheikh Hasina’.
The report said that a special tribunal in the capital Dhaka has announced the verdict in the case filed against former prime minister Sheikh Hasina.
Four of the top five stories on Indian media NDTV aired the verdict against Hasina.

International media outlet Reuters is reporting on the ‘deposed prime minister Hasina’s verdict’.
In addition, reports surrounding Hasina’s verdict are being reported and published in international media outlets.
Various international media outlets have covered the verdict of the case from the tribunal.
The three-member panel, headed by Justice Golam Mortuza Mozumder, delivered the verdict after finding them guilty on multiple charges.
The tribunal also found former Inspector General of Police Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun guilty, but awarded him a “lenient sentence” of five years’ imprisonment for making a full disclo-sure of the events and cooperating with investigators as approver.
