Eminent citizens from different professions have extended their congratulations to Anowar Rashid, the newly elected president of the Gulshan Club.
Anowar Rashid, chairman and managing director of Bangla-desh Polymer Industries, has been elected president of Gulshan Club for 2023-2024.
Masud Ahmed Shihab, additional inspector general of police, Biplab Kumar Sarkar, joint commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), Sanjit Kumar Roy, joint commissioner (DB) of DMP and Kamrul Huda Chowdhury Jaman, first vice president of Premier Bank, are among the eminent individuals who have extended their congratulations.
The 45th annual general meeting and election of the Gulshan Club was held on 23 December to elect its president and members of the board of directors.
Anowar Rashid won as president of the club in the election securing 507 votes out of a total of 1,096 votes, reports a press release.
Safius Sami Alamgir has been elected a member of the board of directors for the second time by getting the highest number of votes in the election.
Other newly-elected directors of the club are Mahbubul Haque Sufyani, Md Mehedi Hasan, Mehjabeen Bhuiyan, Nafisa Tarannum, Novera Ayesha Zaman, Sabera Ahmed (Koli), Shaheed Ahmed Sultan, Sumaiya Binta Aziz and Zahid Hossain.
Gulshan Club Election Board Chairman Anis A Khan announced the election results.
