Jatiya Party to join JS polls in all 300 seats

Staff Reporter:

Jatiya Party (JaPa) has decided to join in the upcoming 12th Jatiya Sangsad (JS) election slated for Jan-uary 7, 2024 and contest in all the 300 constituencies.
“We have completed all preparations to join the upcoming parliament elections. JaPa will contest in all 300 constituencies without joining any alliance,” JaPa Secretary General Mujibul Haque Chunnu told journalists at a press briefing at the party’s Banani office yesterday afternoon.
JaPa Chairman GM Quader took the decision to join the elections following the assurance of the Elec-tion Commission and all the concerned authorities, he said, adding that the concerned authorities assured that the polls will be free, impartial and credible where the voters could exercise their franchise without any hindrance.
“As of noon yesterday we have sold about 1,400 nomination forms. In almost every constituency, more than one aspirant candidate collected the nomination form,” Chunnu said.
As per the party decision, JaPa will take part in the election as a single party instead of compromising seats with anyone, he added.
