EC officials at Bangabhaban to meet President

Election Commission officials have reached the Bangabhaban for a meeting with President Mohammad Shahabuddin this morning to discuss the polls schedule.

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal and four election commissioners are attending the meeting.

The meeting was set to get underway around 12:00 noon.

During the meeting, the CEC will inform the overall progress and preparation of the commission relating to the announcement of the polls schedule and other issues, Election Commission (EC) Secretary Md Jahangir Alam said.

The country’s prevailing atmosphere is still conducive to announce the schedule for the 12th parliamentary election, he said.
