The Local Government Division has suspended all types of tenders and procurement processes for government works until the necessary rules are framed and a new rate schedule is published.
The directive was issued in a circular by the Administration-1 Branch of the Local Government Division under the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives on Thursday.
According to the circular, all new and ongoing tender and procurement processes relating to works, services and the supply of goods will remain suspended until new rules are framed under the Public Procurement (Amendment) Ordinance, 2026, and a new rate schedule is published.
However, the suspension will not apply to matters of urgent national importance.
The circular further said that the suspension would remain in force until further notice and requested all relevant agencies to take necessary measures accordingly.
