A Dhaka court yesterday placed two BNP men including Palashbari Swechasebak Dal convener Shamim on seven-day remand in a case lodged over brutal killing of police constable Amirul Islam Pervej, 32, on October 28.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Ali Haider passed the order as police produced the duo before the court and pleaded to place them on 10-day remand in the case.
Police filed the case with Paltan Model Police Station against 164 people, making BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam as the prime accused in the case.
Constable Pervej was brutally killed allegedly by the leaders and activists of BNP during their grand rally in capital’s Naya Paltan area on October 28.
