Prime Minister’s adviser Mahdi Amin has called for greater caution and responsibility in political responses, urging stakeholders to verify information before reacting to any untoward incident.
In a Facebook post at 4:43pm on Friday, he said it is essential to gather comprehensive data and ensure authenticity before making instant reactions or taking organisational steps, warning that vested groups often spread misleading and motivated propaganda using partial videos or images.
He also criticised the continued use of indecent behaviour and abusive language as a political strategy, even after the mass uprising, saying such conduct has distanced certain groups from public sentiment. According to him, this disconnect is reflected more clearly in electoral outcomes than in social media hype.
Mahdi Amin further said that the repeated use of offensive language—both openly and anonymously—against widely respected individuals reflects a form of covert authoritarian mindset.
Emphasising the need for constructive politics, he called for the promotion of restrained language, mutual respect and a culture of positive dialogue.
He also urged opposition parties to acknowledge that differences of opinion are natural, but must be expressed with decency and responsibility, adding that principled positions and healthy political practices are vital for strengthening a democratic society.
