Sholakia Eid-ul-Azha congregation to be held at 9am

A Correspondent:

Kishoreganj: Sholakia Eidgah Maidan will host the country’s historic Eid-ul-Azha congregation at 9:00 am this year, with authorities announcing extensive preparations and special transportation arrangements for devotees.
The decisions were taken at a meeting of the Sholakia Eidgah Management Committee held on Wednes-day afternoon at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Kishoreganj.
According to the committee, Mufti Abul Khair Mohammad Saifullah will lead the 199th congregation at the historic Eidgah, widely regarded as one of the largest Eid gatherings in Bangladesh.
To facilitate the movement of worshippers arriving from different parts of the country, Bangladesh Railway will operate two special train services named “Sholakia Express,” as it has done in previous years.
The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner and President of the Eidgah Management Committee Sohana Nasrin. Among others present were member secretary of the committee and Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Kamrul Hasan Maruf, senior officials from various government departments, and politi-cal leaders.
The meeting also reviewed law and order, field preparation, crowd movement, and overall security measures. Authorities decided to deploy two platoons of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), along with members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), police, and other law enforcement agencies to maintain security during the congregation.
