Staff Reporter:
The interim government has granted a one-month extension, until 30 April, to five reform commissions to prepare their proposals as part of the ongoing efforts to restructure different sectors of the country.
The commissions are the Health, Labour, Women, Local Government and Media Reform Commissions.
The Cabinet Division issued separate notifications on Thursday extending the deadline.
Meanwhile, the Media Reform Commission has already submitted its report to the government, while the Local Government Reform Commission has submitted its summary.
The remaining three reform commissions have not yet submitted their reports. These commissions have until March to complete their work. Now, that deadline has been extended.
The government formed these five reform commissions on 18 November. The commissions were given three months to submit their reports. That period ended on 17 February.
After their failure to submit reports within the stipulated time, the government extended the commissions’ tenure by one month from 18 February to 31 March. This time, the term has been extended for the second time.
The reports of the six reform commissions formed earlier have already been submitted. These are the Constitutional, Judiciary, Electoral, Public Administration, Police and Anti-Corruption Commission Reform Commissions.
