A team of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement (ADSM), led by its principal organiser Abdul Hannan Masud, has handed over an invitation letter to Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus, inviting him to the launching ceremony of the newly formed political party, National Citizens’ Party (NCP).
The NCP will be launched officially through a programme to be held at Manik Mia Avenue in the capital Dhaka around 3 pm today.
Abdul Hannan shared a photograph on handing over an invitation letter to the chief adviser on his verified Facebook page this evening and said, “I handed over the invitation letter and sought his blessings.”
After receiving the invitation letter, the chief adviser welcomed them and said that he would ensure a congenial atmosphere in the country so that all political parties can work together here to build a new Bangladesh.
Apart from him, other advisers, top brass of the government, people of diplomatic corps, civil society members, leaders of different political parties, students and common people involved in the July-August mass upsurge have already been invited to attend the programme.
Besides, people from different classes and professions, including teachers, social and cultural activists, representatives of various rights bodies and activists of the social media platforms have been requested to join the programme.
After announcing the name of the new political party, Sarjis Alam, a key coordinator of the SAD, wrote on his Facebook page that people from all walks of life from across the country would join the programme, holding banners of the NCP.
