Very severe heat wave is continuing over the country. The most vulnerable district was Chuadanga yes-terday and the districts of the north and northwestern part of the country.
Mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping over Dhaka and Barishal divisions and the rest part of two north and southwestern divisions along some other districts.
“Very severe heat wave is sweeping over the district of Chuadanga and the districts of Rajshahi, Pabna, Sirajganj, Jashore and Kushtia. Mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping over Dhaka and Barishal divi-sions and rest parts of Rajshahi and Khulna divisions and the districts of Dinajpur, Rangamati, Chandpur, Feni and Bandarban and it may continue”, said a met office release for the next 24 hours be-gins from 9am yesterday.
Rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at one or two places over Chattogram and Sylhet divisions with hails at isolated places.
Weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country.
Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
Due to the increase of moisture incursion, the discomfort may persist.
Trough of westerly low lies over West Bengal and adjoining areas.
Country’s maximum temperature on Saturday was recorded 42.7degree Celsius at Chuadanga and mini-mum temperature yesterday was recorded 22.8 degree Celsius at Sylhet.
Maximum rainfall for the last twenty-four hours till 6am yesterday was recorded 16 millimeters (mm) at Sylhet.
The sun sets at 06.26 pm yesterday and rises at 05.26 am today in the capital.
