Two members of parliament of the House of Commons, London, Commonwealth Enterprise and In-vestment Council (CEIC) and Labour Party Friends of Bangladesh in the United Kingdom have congrat-ulated Sheikh Hasina on her reelection as the Prime Minister for a record fifth term and fourth in a row.
In separate messages wrote to Bangladesh premier Sheikh Hasina, they highly praised the prudent leader-ship of Sheikh Hasina and expressed their desire to work with her for mutual and international benefits.
In a letter sent to Sheikh Hasina on January 12, Virendra Sharma,
Member of Parliament for Ealing, Southall House of Commons, London and Vice-Chair, Bangladesh All-Party Parliamentary Group said,
“I wanted to write in congratulations for your election victory,” he said.
He continued: “Your win is a testament to the great strides forward Bangladesh has taken under your leadership and the esteem you are held in by so many.”
Sharma said his own constituency of Ealing Southall has many success stories led by members of the Bangladeshi diaspora and those connections continue to tie countries firmly together.
It was an honour at the end of last year to be invited to participate in Bangladesh Armed Forces Day and speak about the collaboration and cooperation between the UK and Bangladesh, he said.
“I look forward to hearing soon about the success you have planned for Bangladesh and wish you the best for your historic fifth term,” he said.
Paul Bristow, Member of Parliament for Peterborough, House of Commons, London in another letter wrote to Sheikh Hasina, said that she is writing to congratulate her on her election to her fourth consecu-tive term as the Prime Minister of Bangladesh.
“I would also like to congratulate you on your incredible record as the longest serving Prime Minister in the history of Bangladesh, and on becoming the world’s longest-serving female head of government,” Bristow said.
It is clear that under your leadership as Prime Minister your government is delivering results for Bangla-desh and improving the lives of the Bangladeshi people, the letter reads.
“Your business-friendly policies and infrastructure investment has delivered the right environment for economic growth,” he said.
This sustained growth is delivering substantial improvements in the wealth and happiness of your people, and you should be incredibly proud of this record, Paul Bristow said.
“Your continued engagement with the world will continue to expand Bangladesh’s already impressive network of global trade,” he said.
The compassion and humanitarian leadership of your government continues to be demonstrated in the sheltering of the Rohingya people who have been forced from their homeland in Myanmar (Burma), he mentioned.
“I hope that some day the Rohingya are allowed home in a safe and dignified way,” Paul Bristow said.
Once again, congratulations on your re-election and I look forward to continuing to work with you to deepen relationships between our two great countries,” he said.
