Mashrafe’s rival withdraws candidacy

Narail: Independent candidate for Narail-2, Syed Faizul Amir Litu quit the national election race on Wednesday.
He was considered the main rival of Awami League-nominated candidate and sitting MP, Mashrafe Bin Mortaza.
Litu at a press conference held at his residence said he withdrew his candidacy completely voluntarily. He said he announced his withdrawal to support Mashrafe.
At the press conference, the former general secretary of Lohagara Upazila Awami League Syed Faizul Amir Litu urged his followers and supporters to work for Mashrafe and strengthen the hand of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina by voting for the ‘Boat’ symbol.
Litu was the Vice -President of Mirpur Govt Bangla College unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League, Organ-izing Secretary of Lohagara Upazila Awami League from 2004 to 2014, General Secretary of Lohagara Upazila Awami League from 2014 to 2020 and Chairman of Lohagara Upazila Parishad.
