Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested two leaders of banned militant outfit Neo-Jamaatul Mujahideen Bangladesh (Neo-JMB) in a drive from the capital’s Demra area on Friday.
The arrestees are top JMB leader Md Yusuf alias Yusuf Hujur and Md Jahirul Islam alias Jahir.
DMP additional police commissioner (CTTC) Md Asaduzzaman disclosed the information in a press con-ference at DMP Media Centre this afternoon.
In the drive, neo-JMB’s mouthpiece “Naba” newspaper, 10 detonators, two mobile handsets and three jihadi books were seized from their possession, he said.
Asaduzzaman said six members of the militant outfit have been arrested since October last to December 28. On their information, the two neo-JMB men were arrested, he added.
