Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal yesterday said the people of the country will never support BNP’s non-cooperation movement.
“Although the BNP has been trying to enforce programmes one after another to thwart the national elec-tions but people will never response. They are also trying to destabilize the situation,” he told journalists at his secretariat office here.
Replying to a question, the minister said that when everything is going well and people are engaging in elections with festive mood, the BNP calls for non-cooperation movement, adding, “In this situation, if gas, electricity and water supply are stopped, then what will be happened to those who have called for creating a trouble?”
He said that the Election Commission (EC) is working for holding a peaceful and violence free polls and the government is cooperating to the EC.
“People will resist those who are creating anarchy. Some people engage in BNP politics, but love the country are becoming embracing. Most of them are boycotting the elections. See how the BNP is being divided in different groups,” he said.
