Poll campaign for Sheikh Hasina at Gopalganj begins

Tungipara, Gopalganj: The formal election campaign for Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the Awami League-nominated candidate in Gopalganj-3 constituency (Kotalipara-Tungipara), began here yesterday.
On behalf of Kotalipara Upazila Awami League, the party leaders and activists started the election cam-paign in favor of the Awami League president yesterday morning.
Former senior secretary and representative of Sheikh Hasina in her parliamentary constituency, Md Sha-hid Ulla Khandaker, Kotalipara Upazila Chairman Bimal Krishna Biswas, Upazila Awami League Presi-dent Bhabendranath Biswas, its General Secretary Aynal Hossain Sheikh, Municipal Mayor Matiar Rah-man Hazra, former Municipal Mayor HM Ahidul Islam, Md. Kamal Hossain Sheikh, UP Chairman Aminuzzaman Khan Milon, Mazaharul Alam Panna, Yajneshwar Baidya Anup, Awami League leaders Jahangir Hossain Khan, Hannan Sheikh and a large number of leaders, among others, took part in the campaign for the polls slated for January 7.
Upazila Awami League general secretary Aynal Hossain Sheikh said, Kotalipara is the constituency of Awami League president Sheikh Hasina. On her behalf, the party leaders and workers conducted the campaign.
“We have officially started this campaign from yesterday and the campaign will continue till January 5,” he added.
