Leader of the Opposition in Parliament and Jatiya Party Chief Patron Raushan Ershad yesterday met with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Ganobhaban.
She paid the courtesy call on the Prime Minister yesterday afternoon.
“A discussion on the next general election was held between the two leaders during the meeting,” PM’s Deputy Press Secretary KM Shakhawat Moon told a media briefing.
The Prime Minister reiterated her commitment that the 12th parliamentary election will be free and fair and the people of the country will spontaneously take part in the election by exercising their voting rights, he said.
Mashiur Rahaman Ranga, MP, Raushan’s son Rahgir Al Mahi (Saad) Ershad, her spokesperson Kazi Mamunur Rashid and Saad’s wife were present.
