A housewife has reportedly been gang raped by some young men at Musirmor Battala in Rangpur city.
The crime occurred in the area early Sunday, deputy commissioner of Rangpur Metropolitan Police Abu Maruf Hossain said.
Quoting the husband of the housewife, police said some young men including a duo named Rana and Hafizul picked the couple up and took them to an abandoned tin-roof house in the area on charge of stealing a goat on Saturday night.
Later, they tied the husband with a rope at the house and violated the housewife in turns in the dead of night.
After getting free from the rapists, the couple went to the Hazirhat Police Station and lodged a com-plaint against them.
A team of police conducted a drive in the area instantly and arrested them including Rana and Hafizul.
The other accused were identified as Alamgir Hossain, Shamsul Islam and Bulu.
The woman is now undergoing treatment at Rangpur Medical College and Hospital.
