Urging party workers to hand over the arsonists to police, Information and Broadcasting Minster and Awami League Joint General Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud yesterday said BNP is unleashing terrorism in the name of their ‘seize’ program.
BNP leaders are announcing seize programs from underground and instigating their worker to cre-ate chaos and violence in the country, he said while addressing a peace rally organized by Awami League (AL) South city unit at Bangabandhu Avenue.

“We don’t want to take law in our hands. But, the bad elements should be resisted and everybody deserves the authority legally and religiously,” Hasan said adding that the government is deter-mined to take legal actions against the miscreants hiding in caves.
About the demand of outlawing BNP as a political party following attack on chief justice’s resi-dence the minister said, “We don’t want to ban the BNP. We want the party to practice the demo-cratic norms shunning all violence.
Hasan said the government has given all supports to BNP to carry out their movement. But BNP went violent creating mayhem, killing police and attacking journalists. Law enforcers are bound to take action against the law breakers, he said.
Hasan Mahmud said the election will be held on time and the government is determined to hold the poll to be acclaimed internationally. Many BNP leaders will take part in the upcoming poll, he hoped.
The information minister said many BNP leaders are now blaming Tarique Rahman for destroying the party. Those leaders are waiting to participate in the election, he said adding many leaders are in queue to join Trinamul BNP.
Another political party will be formed soon under the leadership of former minister and BNP’s vice chairman Major Hafiz, he noted.
