Eight more people died from dengue while 1,782 others were hospitalised in the 24 hours till 8am on Thursday morning, said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) in an update.
As per the latest figures, the total death toll this year has hit 209, and total hospitalisations have hit 69,149.
Dhaka division alone, along with the two city corporations in the capital, accounts for 100 deaths, followed by Khulna division with 37 deaths.
In the latest 24-hour period, the capital also recorded the highest fatalities with six deaths.
During 8am Wednesday-8am Thursday, three deaths were recorded in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), and Khulna division each, while two deaths were registered in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and Mymensingh division each.
During 8am Wednesday-8am Thursday, Dhaka division, along with the capital’s city corporation areas, also accounted for the most dengue-related hospitalisations.
Dhaka division recorded the highest hospitalisations at 371, while DSCC and DNCC recorded 194, and 151 hospitalisations, respectively, yielding a cumulative tally of 616 hospitalisations.
Chattogram division and Khulna division recorded the second and third highest hospitalisations of 288 and 286 patients, respectively.
