Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) yesterday forecasted light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds in many parts of the country today.
According to forecast, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions may experience widespread rainfall, while Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions may witness scattered rain or thundershowers with isolated heavy showers.
The monsoon is currently less active over Bangladesh but remains moderately active over the North Bay, the forecast said.
A low-pressure area is likely to form over the west-central and northwest Bay of Bengal within the next 48 hours, which may influence the country’s weather in the coming days.
Day and night temperatures are likely to remain nearly unchanged across the country.
The maximum temperature recorded yesterday was 35.5 degrees Celsius at Ramgati, while the minimum temperature yesterday was 24.2 degrees Celsius at Sylhet.
The sun will set in Dhaka at 6:08 pm yesterday and rise at 5:43 am today.
