Bangladesh has contributed $1 million to the Nepal Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund to support the ongoing relief, recovery, and humanitarian efforts following the sudden devastating floods and mudslides in the Himalayan country.
State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humaiun Kobir conveyed this to Nepal’s Ambassador to Bangladesh Ghanshyam Bhandari at the state guesthouse Padma on Thursday while handing over a letter from Prime Minister Tarique Rahman addressed to Nepalese Prime Minister Balendra Shah.
On 1 September, State Minister Humaiun Kobir signed the condolence book opened at the Embassy of Nepal in Dhaka.
The Jatiya Sangsad also adopted a condolence motion on 27 August, following the devastating tragedy in Nepal.
