Jamalpur: A 30-year-old nurse was found dead at her residence in Chalapara in Jamalpur district town on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Roksana Akter Shila, daughter of Abdul Rashid of Chalapara village.
On information, a team of police went to the spot and recovered the body, said Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Jamalpur Sadar Police Station Nazmus Sakib.
Later, the body was sent to Jamalpur General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Shila’s mother Safirunnesa said Shila returned home around 11:00pm on Monday, but her body was found on the bed the following morning. “I simply cannot believe this,” she said.
Shila worked as a staff nurse at a private hospital on Shaheed Harun Road in Jamalpur town, she said.
It was learnt that Shila had been married several times. She had a 10-year-old son from her first marriage.
The child was staying with his maternal grandmother on the night of the incident.
It could not be known whether her current husband Rafiqul Islam was at home during the incident.
OC Nazmus Sakib said they were investigating the incident.
