The ninth pay scale might be placed at a cabinet meeting scheduled on Monday, with a gazette to be published within Thursday if it gets approved by the cabinet on that day.
According to finance ministry sources, the gazette notification of the new pay scale might be published within the next week. The formalities have already been completed. A cabinet meeting has been scheduled for Monday, and preparations are being taken to include the new pay scale in the agenda and place it for approval.
If the new pay scale gets approved on Monday, a gazette notification might be issued on Thursday, officials said.
However, officials could not confirm the new rates of the salaries and other allowances in the final draft that has been prepared for approval.
Sources said the secretaries’ committee has proposed a 100% increase in the basic salaries for all grades, which will be implemented in two phases.
The committee has proposed to increase the basic salaries in the first year and other allowances in the second year.
