Natore: Two people, including an auto-van driver, were killed after a bus ran over them in the Ramai Gachhi area of Natore Sadar upazila on Saturday noon.
The deceased were identified as auto-van driver Sayeed Mia, 45, and passenger Sabbir Hossain, 23. They died on the spot. They were residents of Rajibpur and Joynagar Purbopara villages under Barahorispur union of the upazila.
The Dhaka-bound bus coming from Rajshahi hit an auto-van from behind on the Natore-Rajshahi highway at noon, causing the driver and a passenger to fall onto the road, Mansur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Natore Sadar Police Station, said.
The bus then ran over the two people before fleeing the scene.
On information, firefighters and police rushed to the scene and recovered the bodies.
Police sent the bodies to Natore Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsies.
