Savar: Detectives arrested two armed drug dealers on Friday with a foreign pistol, ammunition, and a large quantity of narcotics during a raid in Savar.
Saidul Islam, Dhaka District North Detective Branch (DB) Inspector, confirmed the drive in the Rajashon Palwanpara area under Savar municipality.
The arrestees were identified as Russel Babu,22, son of the late Abdul Ghaffar of Dinajpur, and Sajib Sarkar,20, son of Jahidul Sarkar of Gaibandha. The duo had been residing as tenants in Poschim Rajashon.
During the operation, DB officers seized a foreign pistol, six rounds of ammunition, a shotgun car-tridge, a foreign dagger, 300 grams of heroin, five bottles of Fairdil, and 200 grams of marijuana. They also confiscated two CCTV cameras and a DVR from the suspects’ hideout.
The suspects had long been using firearms to establish dominance, execute criminal acts, and run local drug networks, Police said.
A case has been filed against them under the Arms and Narcotics Control Acts at Savar Model Po-lice Station.
