President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has administered the oath of office to Bandarban lawmaker Sa Ching Prue as the Minister for Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) Affairs.
The swearing-in ceremony was held at Durbar Hall of Bangabhaban on Friday evening.
Sa Ching Prue was elected as a member of parliament (MP) from Bandarban in the 13th parliamen-tary election held in February, 2026.
Earlier, he was first elected MP from the Bandarban constituency in the sixth parliamentary elec-tion in 1996.
During his long political career, he also contested the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) elections in 2001, 2009 and 2018, said a PID release this afternoon.
Born on January 15 in 1953 in the Kyangvita area of Bandarban Municipality, Sa Ching Prue is the son of Angshai Prue Chowdhury, a former state minister during the tenure of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, and Abai Prue Chowdhurani.
