Staff Reporter:

Prime Minister and BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman on Thursday offered prayers at the graves of his father, former president Ziaur Rahman, and his mother, former prime minister Khaleda Zia, after the presidential election.

The Prime Minister offered the prayers for his departed parents at the mausoleum complex at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in the capital around 6:00pm, said Prime Minister’s Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Ruman.

The Additional Press Secretary said the Prime Minister also stood silently by himself for some time before offering the prayers.

Tarique Rahman then went to the BNP Chairman’s Political Office in Gulshan, where he offered Maghrib prayers and joined an organisational meeting with BNP leaders from Rajshahi, Pabna and Chapainawabganj districts.
