Miladunnabi (SM) on August 26

The holy Eid-e-Miladunnabi (SM) will be observed across the country on August 26.
The government has adopted extensive national-level programs to mark the day, the birthday of Prophet Mu-hammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam as per the Hijri Calendar, with due religious solemnity, fervor, and en-thusiasm.
The programs were finalized at an inter-ministerial meeting on August 13 with Religious Affairs Secretary Munshi Alauddin Al Azad in the chair.
Director General (DG) of Islamic Foundation Mufti Muhammad Muhibbullahil Baqi, Additional Secretary (Hajj) Dr. Ayatul Islam, Additional Secretary (Administration) Md. Imtiaz Hossain, and representatives from various ministries, departments, and agencies attended the meeting.
The President and the Prime Minister will issue separate messages to mark the day.
National flags will be hoisted at all government, semi-government, autonomous institutions, private establish-ments, and armed forces installations on the day.
Important traffic islands, light posts, and major city points will be decorated with national and colorful flags, along with banners inscribed with the Kalima Tayyiba.
Special prayers will be offered at mosques across the country, including the Bangladesh Secretariat Mosque.
Divisional, district, and upazila administrations, city corporations, municipalities, and the armed forces will organise discussions and prayer sessions in their respective jurisdictions.
The Islamic Foundation will arrange waz mahfils, seminars, and talk shows, alongside competitions in qirat, hamd-naat, recitation of self-composed poems, and Arabic sermon writing.
A month-long Islamic book fair will be held at the south plaza of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque.
Bangladesh Television, Bangladesh Betar, and other electronic media have been requested to broadcast spe-cial programmes while newspapers will publish commemorative supplements.
All the relevant organisations will organise discussions, prayer sessions, hamd-naat, poetry recitations, cultural and quiz competitions focusing on the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), and on Islam’s message of peace, progress, fraternity, tolerance, human rights, and women’s dignity.
Bangladesh Shishu Academy will arrange special programs for children, including hamd-naat, discussions, and essay competitions.
Improved diets will be served at all military and civil hospitals, prisons, government orphanages, child devel-opment centers, and old-age homes.
Bangladesh missions abroad will also observe the day with due respect.
Relevant ministries and departments have been instructed to take special measures to maintain peace and law-and-order during the observance.
