Cumilla: A Cumilla court on Tuesday sentenced a man to death for killing his wife by electrocution in 2023.
Judge of the Cumilla Additional District and Sessions Judge Court-5 Mohammad Sultan Uddin Prodhan pronounced the judgment.
The condemned convict, Md Azad, is the son of Kabir Hossain of Bashantapur village in Chauddagram upazila of the district.
According to the prosecution, Azad killed his wife Tania Begum, a mother of three children, by wrapping electrical wires around her hands and feet and electrocuting her over a family dispute on July 27, 2023.
Tania’s mother, Maya Begum, filed a case with Chauddagram Police Station.
Police submitted a charge sheet against Azad after completing the investigation.
