Prime Minister’s Adviser on Public Administration Affairs Md Ismail Zabihullah yesterday warned that the government will not tolerate “mob culture” in the country.
“We can assure you that no such mob culture will be tolerated. The country will run according to the law, and we will enforce it, InshaAllah,” he said in response to a question while attending a view-exchange meeting marking 180 days of the government at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) yesterday noon.
Mentioning that mob culture is undesirable whenever it occurs and should never be allowed to take place, Zabihullah said, “There is no mob culture like the one that existed in the final days of the interim government.”
Supporting Ismail Zabihullah, Prime Minister’s Political Adviser Md Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said the prevalence of mob culture had declined considerably.
“The prevalence of mob culture has now decreased significantly. It emerged to a considerable extent from political support and implicit political influence,” he said, adding that the stronger the rule of law became, the more mob culture would decline.
At the view-exchange meeting, Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) Spokesperson Mahdi Amin pre-sented details of the government’s activities and achievements during its first 180 days.
Prime Minister’s Press Secretary AAM Saleh Shibly chaired the event, while Prime Minister’s advisers Nazrul Islam Khan, Md Ruhul Kabir Rizvi and Md Ismail Zabihullah, Information and Broadcasting Minister Zahir Uddin Swapon, Prime Minister’s Adviser Dr Zahed Ur Rahman and Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Ruman also spoke.
The ministers and advisers answered various questions from journalists at the meeting.
State Minister for LGRD and Cooperatives Mir Shahe Alam, State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Yasser Khan Choudhury, Adviser for Foreign Affairs Humaiun Kobir, Prime Minis-ter’s Special Assistant on Health Affairs S M Ziauddin Hyder and SDG Chief Coordinator Profes-sor SM Abdul Awal were also present.
Among others, Prime Minister’s Political Assistant Rashed Khan, Information and Broadcasting Secretary Mahbuba Farzana, Principal Information Officer (PIO) Syed Abdal Ahmed, Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) Secretary General Kader Gani Chowdhury, Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ) General Secretary Khurshid Alam, Managing Director of the Bangladesh Journalist Welfare Trust Mohammad Abdul Basir (Basir Jamal), Prime Minister’s Speech Writer Mahfuzur Rahman, Deputy Press Secretaries Jahidul Islam Rony, Md. Suzauddhowla and Sha-hadat Shadhin, and Assistant Press Secretaries Asrofa Emdad, KM Nazmul Haque and Abdullah Al Mahmud Shahriar were present at the program.
