Inmate dies at hospital in Dhaka

A Correspondent:

Sirajganj: A prisoner from Sirajganj District Jail died while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Dhaka on Saturday morning.
The deceased was identified as Kawsar Hossain, 22, son of Saidur Rahman from Jhurjhuri village in Ta-rash upazila.
Sirajganj District Jail Superintendent Rafiqul Islam said Kawsar had been in jail since April 12, 2024, in connection with a murder case.
He fell ill and was admitted to Sirajganj General Hospital on July 15. As his condition worsened, he was shifted to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital in Bogura.
Later, on July 18, he was transferred to the Prison Hospital in Dhaka for advanced treatment, where he died on Saturday morning.
Following an autopsy, his body was handed over to his family on Saturday afternoon, the jail superin-tendent added.
