Five more children die with measles symptoms in 24hrs

Five more children died with measles symptoms across the country in the past 24 hours, while 1,107 new cases of measles and measles-like symptoms were reported during the period.

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) revealed the figures in its regular measles report on Friday.

According to the report, 950 suspected measles cases were reported in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of suspected cases to 122,150 between 15 March and 24 July.

The number of confirmed measles cases rose to 15,194 during the period, including 187 cases reported in the past 24 hours.

A total of 104,717 suspected measles patients were admitted to hospitals between 15 March and 24 July, while 101,056 recovered and were discharged during the period.

Five people died with suspected measles in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of deaths from suspected measles to 715 since 15 March.

No deaths from confirmed measles were reported in the past 24 hours. However, 95 people have died from confirmed measles since 15 March.
