Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind are likely to continue across the country today with heavy to very heavy rainfall expected at places, according to the latest weather bulletin issued yesterday.
The BMD said light to moderately heavy rain or thundershowers with temporary gusty wind are likely to occur at most places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at many places over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna and Barishal divisions during the next 24 hours beginning at 9:00 am yes-terday.
Heavy to very heavy rainfall may occur at places over Rangpur Division, it added.
The weather office said the well-marked low over North Odisha and adjoining Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal has weakened into a low-pressure area over Bihar and adjoining areas and is likely to weak-en gradually and merge with the monsoon axis.
Yesterday’s highest temperature was recorded at 35.6 degrees Celsius in Tetulia, while the lowest tem-perature was 23.2 degrees Celsius, also in Tetulia.
