July Warriors Day observed

An audio-visual publication series on 2024 Mass Uprising along with a theme song presentation, cultural performances and a discussion was held at the Bangladesh Film Archive observed yesterday to mark the Women, Child Martyrs and July Warriors Day.
The program was jointly organized by July Shaheed Smriti Foundation and the Bangladesh Cinema and Television Institute (BCTI).
Delivering the welcome address, Chief Executive Officer of the July Shaheed Smriti Foundation Lt. Col. (Rtd.) Kamal Akbar said preserving the memory of the women, children and all other martyrs of July Mass Uprising and promote the stories to future generations is a national responsibility.
He said the foundation has been implementing a series of research, publication and memorial initiatives to achieve that goal.
Speaking as the chief discussant, Additional Secretary and Secretary in-charge of the Ministry of Infor-mation and Broadcasting Shah Alam said the state and society must ensure due recognition to the mar-tyrs of July Mass Uprising.
He also stressed the need for establishing a coordinated and sustainable support framework for the fami-lies of the martyrs and those affected by the uprising.
Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Dr Alam Mostafa as special guest said the martyrs should be remembered not only during July but every day single day in nation’s thoughts, values and actions.
July warriors and members of martyrs’ families also shared their experiences and emphasized the im-portance of preserving the history of the martyrs through research and presenting it properly to the fu-ture generations.
The program concluded with the screening of the theme song and audio-visual publication series on the 2024 Mass Uprising, followed by a cultural performance.
The organizers said a series of discussion sessions, audio-visual exhibitions and cultural programs has been taking place at the Bangladesh Film Archive from July 16 to 18 to preserve the history of the July Mass Uprising, commemorate the martyrs and promote the spirit of July among the younger generation.
