Staff Reporter:
Owing to the recent flood-related disruptions, the authorities have suspended the remaining HSC and equivalent exams in the areas under the Chattogram Education Board.
The suspension will stay in effect until further notice, and a revised exam schedule will be announced later, said two separate notifications issued on Thursday by the Inter-Education Board Examination Controllers’ Committee and the Chattogram Board.
The HSC exams, Alim exams, Business Management and Technology (BMT) exams, Vocational course exams, and Diploma-in-Commerce exams, said the notifications.
Exams in all other districts not covered under the Chattogram Education Board will continue, it added.
Prof Syed Akteruzzaman, president of Inter-Education Board Examination Controllers’ Committee, signed the notification.
The suspension for Chattogram Education Board has been announced following consultation with all relevant stakeholders, it said.
The move takes into consideration the post-flood scenario in the damaged areas under Chattogram board, obstacles to students’ smooth movement due to damaged roads and transport networks and the students’ overall mental and physical wellbeing in the wake of the crisis.
