A teacher has been accused of giving students the answer sheets for evaluating public exam answer sheets in Cumilla. The accused teacher and the student jailed for the misconduct.
The District Detective Branch (DB) police confirmed the matter through a press release on Sunday even-ing.
The press release mentioned that a video was recently published on social media. In the published video, a student is seen evaluating the board exam booklet. Later, the Cumilla Education Board authorities ob-served the matter and found out that the exam booklets were taken by Mohammad Bachchu Mia (55), a senior teacher (acting headmaster) of Abdullahpur Haji Amir Ali High School, who was appointed as the examiner of the General Science (127) subject of the SSC Examination-2026, from the Comilla Educa-tion Board for evaluation of two hundred answer sheets.
The examiner did not evaluate the two hundred answer sheets himself, but gave the answer sheets to Me-hedi Hasan (15), a former student of Abdullahpur Haji Amir Ali High School.
Later, Mr. Papia Akhter, (Deputy Controller of Examinations (Secondary), Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Comilla) filed a case against the teacher and the student at Debidwar Po-lice Station on Saturday (July 11) under the Public Examinations (Offences) Act, 1980, as the plaintiff.
After filing the case, Debidwar Police Station and DB Police jointly conducted a special operation under the direction of Comilla Superintendent of Police Md. Anisuzzaman (PPM) arrested the accused teacher and student.
Debidwar Police and Cumilla DB jointly conducted the operation and after interrogation, they confessed to their involvement in the crime. On Sunday after producing before court, the court sent them into jail.
