The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) yesterday forecasted light to moderate rain or thun-dershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind and lightning flashes across the country today.
According to a BMD bulletin issued this morning, light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompa-nied by temporary gusty wind and lightning flashes is likely to occur at most places over Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at many places over Rangpur, Rajshahi and Dha-ka divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at places over Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions.
It said mild heat wave is sweeping over Rangpur division and the districts of Rajshahi, Pabna, Naogaon, Dhaka, Kishoregonj, Tangail, Mymensingh, Sylhet, Moulvibazar, Rangamati, Chandpur, Feni, Cox’s Bazar and Chuadanga and it may abate.
Day temperature may fall by (1-3) oC and night temperature may fall slightly over the country.
The highest temperature on Saturday was recorded at 37.6 degrees Celsius in Rangpur under Rangpur division, while the lowest temperature yesterday was 24.0 degrees Celsius in Nikli under Dhaka Divi-sion.
The sun will set at 6:50pm yesterday and rise at 5:16am today in Dhaka, the bulletin added.
