Staff Reporter:
The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has asked the maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra to keep local cautionary signal number three hoisted, as the low-pressure area over the northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining north Odisha-West Bengal coast has intensified into a well-marked low.
Under its influence, squally weather may affect the maritime ports, the north Bay and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh, the BMD said in a warning message on Saturday.
All fishing boats and trawlers over the north Bay have been advised to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution until further notice, it added.
