Artist and cultural personality late Mustafa Monwar was given a state guard of honor as people from all walks of life paid their final respects to him at the Central Shaheed Minar premises yesterday.
His body was taken to the Central Shaheed Minar, where admirers, colleagues and members of the pub-lic gathered to bid adieu to the Ekushey Padak-winning artist. His body was later taken to the Central Mosque of Dhaka University, where his second Janaza was held.
Earlier in the morning, the first Janaza for the veteran artist and puppeteer was held on the Bangladesh Television (BTV) building premises in Rampura.
The body will next be taken to the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Dhaka, where Mustafa Monwar began his professional career. He will later be laid to rest at the Banani Graveyard.
