World Meditation Day celebrated

Staff Reporter:

World Meditation Day was celebrated in Bangladesh and elsewhere in the world on Sunday with a strong commitment to promoting meditation as a means to foster a healthy and humanitarian nation.
The day’s events commenced at 6 am at the National Press Club, where hundreds of individuals from diverse professions participated.
Notable attendees included media personalities, physicians, teachers and students, lawyers, and business-men.
Throughout the program, participants engaged in pranayama (breathing exercises), auto suggestion, and meditation, while also listening to a recorded speech by Madam Nahar Al Bukhari, the Director General of the Quantum Foundation.
Several prominent figures, including Ashraf Ali, the joint general secretary of the Press Club, Kazi Rownak Hossain, a member of the Executive Committee, Rashed Ahmed, the Chief News Editor of Manchranga Television, and Simanto Khokon, the NTV News Editor, shared their personal experiences regarding the transformative power of meditation and its impact on improving health.
Simultaneously, the day was observed in over 150 parks and open spaces, both domestically and interna-tionally, including the centrally located Ramna Park in the city.
Speakers at the National Press Club emphasized the importance of meditation, urging people from all walks of life to incorporate it into their routines.
They highlighted that numerous scientific studies have already demonstrated its efficacy and underlined meditation’s deep roots in the country’s cultural heritage.
They stressed the potential for building an honest and patriotic nation by cultivating a positive mindset, and harnessing the nation’s rich traditions and resources.
During an audio speech played across all parks, Shaheed Al Bukhari, the founder of the Quantum Meth-od, recollected the late National Professor Dr. Nurul Islam’s belief from 30 years ago that meditation serves as an alternative to modern medical treatments.
Bukhari emphasized that the inclusion of the quantum method in modern healthcare practices will expe-dite people’s recovery from illnesses. He clarified that meditation is not a supernatural phenomenon but rather an exercise for the brain, calling for widespread dissemination of meditation teachings to inspire all individuals, including the younger generation, to contribute to the creation of a harmonious nation.
Since 2021, the Quantum Foundation has been observing World Meditation Day, reaffirming its com-mitment to promote meditation as a transformative practice for personal and national development.
