The Chinese minister expressed strong interest in working jointly in these sectors and offered support in research, training and institutional capacity building.

Mahdi Amin made the remarks at a press briefing held at the Diaoyutai Hotel in central Beijing at 1:00 pm local time on Thursday (11:00 am Bangladesh time). The briefing was organized to provide updates on the PM’s China tour.

Mahdi Amin also said the Prime Minister held a party-to-party meeting today with Liu Haixing, Minister of the International Department of the Communist Party of China, at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister called for a closer partnership between Bangladesh and China aimed at long-term economic cooperation, sustainable growth and shared prosperity. The Chinese side expressed its willingness to further strengthen political, economic and people-to-people ties between the two countries and reaffirmed China’s support for Bangladesh’s sovereignty, security and development.

Both sides expressed their commitment to elevating Bangladesh-China relations to a new level through expanded cooperation in development, investment, people-to-people connectivity and party-to-party engagement.
