Task force to intensify anti-dengue drives

Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives State Minister Mir Shahe Alam yesterday said the national task force formed to prevent dengue and other mosquito-borne diseases will intensify regu-lar drives and monitoring activities at houses and establishments across the capital during the monsoon season.
He made the remarks while inspecting an Aedes mosquito search and larva destruction drive conducted by the Task Force Committee for Prevention of Dengue and Other Mosquito-Borne Diseases at several establishments on Roads- 107 and 112 in the Gulshan-2 area.
The state minister said the ongoing anti-dengue campaign would continue uninterrupted and urged city residents to prevent water logging in balconies, flower pots, rooftop gardens and other areas of their homes, while maintaining cleanliness to curb mosquito breeding.
