Staff Reporter:

State Minister for Road Transport and Highways Division Habibur Rashid yesterday said action is must to build a prosperous Bangladesh.
“The Prime Minister’s directive is to stand beside the people, serve them and ensure that government ser-vices reach their doorsteps.
We have come to you to distribute these cherubs so that you do not have to visit government offices re-peatedly to collect allocated funds. We want actions, not empty speeches,” he said.
He made the remarks at a cheque distribution program for funds allocated under the Rural Infrastructure Development Project at the Madartek Abdul Aziz School and College ground in Sabujbagh thana here yesterday.
He said the government’s position against terrorism, extortion and drugs is unequivocal.
Those involved in terrorist activities, drug abuse and drug trafficking and those who seek to create disor-der in society will be dealt firmly, he warned.
He called on all to remain united for the sake of national development and to prevent the spread of ter-rorism, extortion and drugs abuse.
“We will build a better Bangladesh of the future through our work,” he added.
Earlier, the state minister inaugurated a free health camp organised by Square Pharmaceuticals at Mad-rasa in the same area.
Leaders of Khilgaon, Sabujbagh, Mugda and Maniknagar thana units of BNP and various associate and affiliated organisations were present at the event.
