Dhaka University (DU) has retained its position among the top 600 universities globally and secured the top spot in Bangladesh for the third consecutive time in the QS World University Rankings 2027.
The UK-based education and research organisation Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) evaluated 1,504 universities worldwide for its latest “Top Global Universities” list.
QS determines the final rankings based on average scores out of 100 across nine distinct indicators.
DU achieved an overall score of 28.3 this year, matching its exact score of 28.3 in the Academic Reputation index. The institution demonstrated its strongest performance in the Employment Outcomes index with a score of 95.0, alongside an Employer Reputation score of 50.8, reflecting high graduate acceptance in the job market.
The university also made strides in international collaboration and environmental commitment, scoring 61.1 in the International Research Network index and 60.6 in the Sustainability index.
Despite these successes, the data highlights areas requiring development. DU scored 8.0 in both Citations per Faculty and Faculty Student Ratio. Internationalisation remains a challenge, as the university registered a low score of 2.0 in the International Faculty Ratio and 1.4 in the International Student Ratio.
