A Dhaka court yesterday set June 17 for the submission of the supplementary investigation report in the sensational Sharif Osman Hadi murder case.
The report was scheduled to be submitted before the court of Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) yes-terday. However, as the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) failed to file the report, additional chief metropolitan Magistrate Sefatullah fixed June 17 as the new date for submission.
According to the case details, unidentified assailants shot Osman Hadi, the spokesperson of the Inquilab Mancha, at about 2:20 pm on December 12 last year on Box Culvert Road in city’s Paltan area while he was returning after Friday prayers.
On December 14, Abdullah Al Jaber, member secretary of the Inquilab Mancha, filed a case with Paltan Police Station in this connection.
Although Osman Hadi was taken to Singapore for advanced medical treatment but succumbed to his in-juries on December 18 while undergoing treatment.
Among the 17 accused mentioned in the charge sheet 11 are currently in jail and the remaining six are absconding.
