One person has died from dengue and 110 others have been admitted to hospitals across Bangladesh with the mosquito-borne disease in the past 24 hours, according to the latest update from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The information was disclosed in a dengue situation report issued on Monday by the Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room of the DGHS.
According to the report, the newly hospitalised dengue patients include 35 in Barishal Division (outside city corporation areas), 12 in Chattogram Division, 15 in Dhaka Division, one in Dhaka North City Corporation, 12 in Dhaka South City Corporation, 21 in Khulna Division, eight in Mymensingh Division, five in Rajshahi Division, and one in Sylhet Division.
During the same period, 83 dengue patients were discharged from hospitals after recovery.
The DGHS said a total of 3,138 dengue patients have been released from hospitals so far this year.
As of Monday, the total number of dengue cases recorded nationwide in 2026 has reached 3,307.
Of the total infections, 62.6% were male and 37.4% were female, according to the report.
The latest fatality has brought the total number of dengue-related deaths this year to six.
Bangladesh recorded 102,861 dengue cases and 413 deaths from the disease between 1 January and 31 December 2025, highlighting the continued public health challenge posed by dengue outbreaks in the country.
